KATE LILLEY

The cure was energetic and left her restless
lasting pieces and toys
flaked out in the vivarium

she scarcely trusted herself with the view
now that evening had advanced

supper was animated and left her drained
she observed the casements
and had just strength to throw one open

whispering echoes broken ground
she lay down on the mattress and thought no more
