HEART AS METAPHOR
The hand, the head, the harrow,
All the turning back we can offer.
Here is the tick of it: nothing sings.
The bell has no sway. The hands
of the heart stop.
The poem is an inlet,
a bird. A drum. My end-stopped heart.
